WHAT IS ART LICENSING?
Art licensing is when retailers/manufactures lease artwork from an artist, to put on their products. The copyright remains with the artist, but companies can use the art under contract. There is a 99.9% chance you have a product in your home that has licensed art on it.
WHAT IS COPYRIGHT?
Artist’s automatically have copyright on what they create. It protects the work as their own. All work (or any part of their work) can only be used with the artist’s permission. Breach of copyright is taken very seriously by artists.
