I love illustrating. I used to do it all the time then it morphed into painting. At the moment, it's easier for me to illustrate with the Osteoarthritis in my hand (yes, that is why painting has been so sporadic this year). But, also, my creative world requires more illustration so, that's what I'm doing. Hope you enjoy and hopefully after a summer off painting and some hand rest, I'll be back in the painting studio too. I think a balance of paper/pencil/ipad and paint/board is just the ticket to manage the wear and tear on my poor hand.
In the past, I've had illustrations published, I've done editorial commissions, created cards, etc, and I loved it. It's carefree and wonderfully suited to whimsy which is a favourite theme of mine. I can't wait to get back into it - I have a few ideas in mind, a project or three but I also just want to DRAW.
And my hand will thank me for giving it a timeout.
