I am painting but it's a bit slower.
My x-rays show no arthritis so ultrasound is next. My Doctor says tendonitis, my Chiro says I compressed my knuckle, the Hand Physiotherapist says inflammation pressing on nerve bundle.
I personally think I've strained/torn a ligament - I have felt this in my knee before when I've pulled it running. Painful to the touch and when you put pressure on it the wrong way it hurts a lot. Except it's my finger. On my prominent hand. My painting, my camera and coffee holding hand. Of course it is!
I never realized how that middle finger took the brunt of a lot of work, a lot of weight. You use that finger for everything. Please give a silent thank you and moment of appreciation for all your working parts, right now!
I'm painting anyway! Just a bit more staggered and taking a lot of timeout when I feel that telltale throb if not before. I figure I approach this like I approach a running injury. Taking care, giving it as much support and rest as possible, no strain, expert help and slowly slowly keep it moving...
